This was a small project which I did in my own time at the end of second year into the first few weeks of my third year. After seeing Iron Man 2 in the cinema in May 2010 I was inspired to make the iron man suit, although I only got round to making the helmet it’s a side project which I may continue in the future. I’m in progress of making a second helmet which will be moudled so I can make resin casts of.

The helmet started of as a cardboard sheet which is cut out and stuck together to make the basic shell. I then covered it in fibre glass to give it strength and support, after the fibre glass had set I covered it in car body filler which I sanded down leaving a nice smooth surface ready for me to start priming.

I’ve also uploaded some sketches exploring how I could make the mark V suitcase suit, so the suit unfolds from a compact state into the full body armour just like in the Iron man 2 film.
